Get Involved: Volunteer or Donate Today!

There are so many ways you can Get Involved in the Huntington Community Gardens.

  • SPREAD THE WORD about this important project! Let people know by sharing emails, sending out invitations to Work Days, or by simply telling a friend.
  • JOIN US ONLINE: To become a part of our Google Group and get the most up to date information on what's going on with our group, go to google groups and find Community Gardens of Huntington, or go to http://groups.google.com/group/communitygardenshunt and request to be added to our list.
  • VOLUNTEER:  Put your hands to work doing good for our City and Neighbors. To become a volunteer, contact Jenn Williams or Eve Atkinson at  communitygardenshunt@gmail.com, or just show-up at one of our Work Days, usually every Sunday from 2-4:30pm as well as occasionally throuout the week.   • BECOME A MEMBER
    Join the Huntington Community Gardens of WV and help us get things done. We meet regularly on Wednesdays from 10am-Noon to discuss ideas, progress and future plans. We also Work Days almost every Sunday from 2-4:30pm as well as occasionally throuout the week. Visit us at the Barnett Center at 1524 10th Ave., or Check out our Google Calendar for details.

  • BECOME A COMMUNITY GARDENER
    Want to grow a garden filled with vegetables and fruit but just don't have the space? Work with the Huntington Community Gardens to get gardening space. We can help provide you with a small plot or whole lots of land inside city limits.
  • DONATE THE USE OF YOUR VACANT PROPERTY:
    Have a piece of empty property that's just sitting there growing weeds and collecting trash? Donate the use of it to the Huntington Community Gardens! We can help turn that lot into Community Garden space for the whole neighborhood to enjoy.
  • DONATING SUPPLIES & EQUIPMENT:
    If you have a hoe, shovel, soil, wood planters, sand, gravel, outdoor-ready artwork, tillers, or would like to make raised beds for us, we need You. Gardening Supplies such as gloves, hand spades, shovels, seeds, plants, fencing, posts, etc. are always greatly appreciated and needed, as is Equipment such as weed-eaters, lawn mowers, tillers, rotary saws, chain saws, etc. Please bring your Supply or Equipment donations to the Weed and Seed's Barnett Center at 1524 10th Avenue Monday - Friday  between the hours of 9am and 4pm, or Sundays from 2-4pm during our weekly work days.  Call contact our Project Coordinator, Jennifer Williams at (304) 840-2500, or  the Weed and Seed Program Director, Tim White at 304-751-6251, to schedule supply drop-off times. This is a tax deductible donation through The City of Huntington Foundation.
  • MONETARY DONATIONS:
    We need your financial contributions to reach our goals for this year and the next. If you are interested in making a monetary donation, you can make a non-tax deductable donation by writing and mailing a check to:
